Outside white biscuit, inside glazed
Is it paper or porcelain? With a great deal of delicate craftsmanship and expertise, the masters of porcelain have succeeded in capturing the fragility and poetry of Ruth Gurvich’s paper works and at the same time made them robust enough for everyday use. The interior of this 29 cm fruit bowl is glazed, but the outside is left as raw biscuit fragments which perfectly reflect the fragile transparency of hand-crafted paper. This is very similar to what the Argentinian artist has achieved in her many works to date.
